The ComMUniversity programme is a three way partnership run by MaynoothUniversity in conjunction with South Dublin County Partnership and North Clondalkin Library Service offers. It offers adults an unrivalled opportunity to experience and participate in free university-level modules which are delivered by university lecturers in a local library setting. The objective of the programme is to make third level education more accessible to adults by removing known barriers, such as programme costs and transportation, which can make it difficult for people to attend university.

This unaccredited adult education and personal development programme takes places in a pressure free environment with no exams or assignments. Learning is fun and is designed to build participants innate capacity and confidence. Formal learning takes places through active participation in lectures and group conversation throughout as well as informally during the coffee break.

ComMUniversity ran for the first time in Clondalkin in 2022-23 following an initial ‘Taster Programme’ which enabled participants to engage without commitment to see what might be involved. 18 participants were invited to a graduation-style celebration of learning event which took place on Maynooth University Campus.

Following the popularity and success of the initial Clondalkin ComMUniversity in 2022, the programme has continued to run. A limited number of places are available in each programme. Anyone interested in taking part can register their interest here: https://form.jotform.com/221092011625341
